Immingham In Bloom 2013
Immingham In Bloom 2013 "Immingham has never looked better" is a phrase we hear continually now and it sums up everything we are trying to do. It's not just a campaign to win a meadal or trophy, which obviously makes all the hard work worthwhile, but it is about lifting the whole town and watching more and more people gradually get involved. Our sponsors are amazing. We couldn't do it without them and we have even more this year. My thanks go out to all of them but with particular mention to ABP and Tata Steel this year for their amazing donation of our signature railway feature. They never question our requests however mad they are, and they have delivered a project that makes a real impact.
I also want to say a big thank you to all our volunteers who makes the group what it is, and to the staff of Immingham Town Council who share our aims and despite all the cuts and reduced funding this year, the standard has been raised again. Taking over responsibility for grounds maintenance within the town has made a huge difference to the standard of grass cutting and planting and it demonstrates how services, delivered locally can really work. We want to also mention Canon Peter Hall School who are representing us for the first time this year. We wish them our best, and finally a big thank you to John Clark at Carr Lane Nurseries who not only provides all our plants but, gives us valuable advice and assistance all throughout the year. His services are Invaluable.
Immingham In Bloom was awarded a gold for their 2013 entry, winning the Town category along with an extra award for being the least littered Town. |
